Breeding Stock

At Dalwind Farms, we focus on building a strong, resilient flock. Our herd includes a small registered Katahdin flock and a larger commercial hair sheep flock, primarily Katahdin and Dorper.

While we are still growing our breeding program and currently have limited breeding ewes and ewe lambs, we occasionally have ram lambs available for sale.

We are selectively breeding for traits that matter:

Easy keepers that thrive on pasture with minimal input
Good twinning rates for productive flocks
Out-of-season breeding through our accelerated semi-extensive program
Hardy, resilient sheep with strong growth and quality carcasses

We are also proactive in flock health management. Some of our animals are sample-tested for OPP and visually checked for signs of Johnes, with plans to expand health testing as our flock grows.

Every animal is raised with care, under management practices that prioritize health, hardiness, and performance.
